The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of Johor, Sarawak and Labuan, with heavy rain and strong winds expected until 1pm today.
Affected areas in Johor include Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru.
In Sarawak, the warning covers Beluru and Marudi in Miri, as well as Limbang. The Federal Territory of Labuan is also under alert.
MetMalaysia said the warning is issued when there are indications of thunderstorms producing rainfall exceeding 20mm per hour that are imminent or expected to persist for more than an hour.
The warning is a short-term alert and remains valid for a period not exceeding six hours from the time of issuance.
