Here’s How The Weather Looks For The Evening

Malaysians in several states should keep their umbrellas close, as thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to persist in many parts of the country until 5pm on June 21.

In the latest weather alert by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the evening weather outlook shows unsettled conditions across northern, central and east coast states in Peninsular Malaysia, including Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Johor. The Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are also under the weather alert.

“Residents in areas such as Petaling, Gombak, Hulu Langat and Sepang in Selangor, as well as Johor Bahru, Kulai, Kluang and Kota Tinggi in Johor, can expect periods of heavy downpours accompanied by strong winds.

“In East Malaysia, widespread thunderstorms are forecast across large parts of Sarawak, including Kuching, Samarahan, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri, while several districts in Sabah, including Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Papar, Tuaran, Tawau and Lahad Datu, are also expected to experience stormy conditions,” the weather agency said.

MetMalaysia warned that the adverse weather could lead to reduced visibility on roads, flash flooding in low-lying areas and the risk of fallen trees during strong wind episodes.
