The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of potential strong winds, thunderstorms and prolonged heavy rain across parts of the country until June 24.
MetMalaysia said analysis of the latest weather forecast models indicates a concentration of strong westerly winds over northern Peninsular Malaysia, northern Sarawak, western Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan during the period.
The weather conditions could trigger the formation of squall lines, bringing thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds for extended periods in the affected areas.
MetMalaysia advised the public to remain vigilant and stay updated on the latest weather developments through its official channels.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit MetMalaysia’s official website and social media platforms, as well as download the MyCuaca application for the latest and verified weather information.
