Theta Edge Berhad announced that its Chairman, Tan Sri Abd Rahman Mamat, has resigned from his position effective June 22, 2026.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the company said the 74-year-old Malaysian national stepped down as Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman to pursue other commitments.
Tan Sri Abd Rahman brings extensive public sector and trade policy experience, having served in Malaysia’s civil service for more than three decades.
He was previously the Secretary General of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) from 2006 to 2010, after joining MITI as an Assistant Director in 1975.
During his 35-year tenure with MITI, he held various senior positions including Deputy Trade Commissioner at the Malaysian Trade Office in New York, Economic Counsellor, Trade Commissioner and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission, as well as Director of the Export Promotion Bureau at the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
Apart from his role at Theta Edge, Tan Sri Abd Rahman currently serves as a director of MCE Holdings Berhad and ECA Integrated Solutions Berhad.
Theta Edge said it would make further announcements on any developments relating to the company’s board composition in accordance with regulatory requirements.
