Propel Global Bhd has begun construction of its Riverpoint development in Kuantan, a RM64 million gross development value project marking the group’s first foray into property development as it diversifies beyond its oil and gas (O&G) services core.
The riverfront commercial scheme, developed via wholly-owned Propel Global Development Sdn Bhd, comprises 31 freehold three-storey shoplots located at a prominent gateway site near the “Welcome to Kuantan” arch, with frontage along a major arterial road linking to Kuantan town.
The project signals a strategic expansion for Propel Global into real estate, with the group positioning Riverpoint as a new growth pillar alongside its engineering and O&G-related businesses, while leveraging its construction and project execution capabilities.
Group Chief Executive Officer Angeline Lee said the RM64 million development underscores confidence in Kuantan’s long-term growth trajectory, supported by infrastructure catalysts including the East Coast Rail Link and Kuantan Port.
She said Riverpoint is designed as a low-density commercial enclave targeting retail, food and beverage, office users and investors seeking high-visibility premises in a growing urban corridor.
Each unit features large frontages, display windows and flexible layouts, with built-up areas starting from 4,202 sq ft, aimed at accommodating a range of business uses.
She shared that the project reflects its broader strategy to diversify revenue streams and build exposure to complementary sectors with long-term value potential.
“Once completed, Riverpoint is expected to add a new commercial node to Kuantan’s riverfront area, reinforcing the group’s transition toward a more diversified business profile,” she said.
