Yayasan Peneraju (YP) Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Sani will step down from his role effective July 1, 2026, marking a leadership transition at the Bumiputera talent development agency under the Economy Ministry.
Announcing the move, Economy Minister and the foundation Board of Trustees chairman Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir thanked Ibrahim for his contributions in steering the organisation through a key transformation phase aimed at strengthening its role as a strategic and value-driven talent development institution.
Akmal said the transition would not affect the continuity of YP’s operations or its long-term objectives, including the target of developing 100,000 Bumiputera talents by 2030 and nurturing 10,000 individuals with active economic participation and ownership under the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035.
Since taking the helm in November 2023, Ibrahim led efforts to reposition YP from a wealth-creation focus towards a value-creation approach centred on developing future professional, business and community leaders. Among the key initiatives introduced during his tenure was the launch of the Talent Bank platform in 2024 to identify and nurture high-potential Bumiputera talent.
Reflecting on his tenure, Ibrahim said it had been a privilege to lead the organisation during a period of transformation and expressed confidence that the groundwork laid over the past few years had placed YP on the right path towards achieving its Roadmap to 2030 goals.
Meanwhile, the agency said the process of identifying Ibrahim’s successor is already underway, with an announcement to be made in due course.
