SkyeChip Berhad has entered into a definitive agreement with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) for access to ARM Limited’s Flexible Access (“AFA”) token, under the strategic cooperation programme between the Government of Malaysia and ARM.
The firm said the agreement follows the conditional approval letters received from MIDA in April 2026 for access to both the ARM Compute Subsystem (“CSS”) token and the AFA token.
The latest agreement formalises SkyeChip’s participation in the AFA token programme, which is aimed at supporting local semiconductor development through access to ARM’s technology ecosystem.
ARM’s Flexible Access programme provides participating companies with access to ARM’s broad portfolio of intellectual property (IP) solutions, enabling them to develop and customise semiconductor products more efficiently.
SkyeChip said the agreement represents a strategic step in strengthening its capabilities in chip design and advancing Malaysia’s semiconductor industry.
Meanwhile, the company added that it is still reviewing and evaluating the terms and conditions of the definitive agreement relating to access to the ARM Compute Subsystem token.
