NEXG Berhad has proposed changing its company name back to Datasonic Group Berhad, subject to shareholders’ approval.
In an announcement, the company said the proposed name change is part of its corporate exercise to adopt the new name, which has been approved and reserved by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) on May 8, 2026.
The reservation for the proposed name, initially valid for 30 days, has since been extended until November 4, 2026.
NEXG said the proposed change of name will require approval from shareholders at the company’s upcoming 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM), with the date to be announced later.
A circular containing details of the proposed name change will be issued to shareholders in due course.
If approved, the name change will take effect from the date the CCM issues the Notice of Registration of New Name to the company.
