TalentCorp Connects Students With 500 Internship Opportunities

More than 500 internship opportunities were opened to students at the GBS Internship Fair 2026, as Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp) brought together over 5,000 students and more than 40 employers to bridge the gap between education and employment in Malaysia’s growing digital services sector.

Held in collaboration with the Digital Global Business Services Council Malaysia, Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation and the Contact Centre Association of Malaysia, the event focused on connecting students from universities and TVET institutions across the Central Region with employers in the Global Business Services (GBS) industry.

The internship placements span key areas including finance and accounting, IT and digital services, data analytics, customer operations, business services, process improvement and artificial intelligence-enabled roles, reflecting the sector’s shift towards higher-value and technology-driven functions.

TalentCorp Group Chief Executive Officer Biruntha Mooruthi said the initiative comes amid ongoing challenges in graduate employability, pointing to skills mismatches and youth unemployment pressures.

She noted that Malaysia’s youth unemployment rate for those aged 15 to 24 stands at 10.2%, affecting more than 290,000 individuals, while 1.93 million tertiary-educated workers remain in roles that do not match their qualifications.

She added that stronger collaboration between government, industry and educational institutions is essential to ensure graduates are better aligned with labour market needs and equipped with job-ready skills.

Participating companies included Daythree Business Services, SLB, Experian Malaysia, Telecontinent, The Access Group, Transcosmos Malaysia, SCICOM and Standard Chartered Bank, many of which are involved in TalentCorp’s National Structured Internship Programme.
