Binastra Wins RM491.2 Million Data Centre Contract In Cheras

Binastra Corporation Bhd has secured a RM491.2 million contract to build a seven-storey data centre in Cheras, marking its second data centre project secured for FY2027 and lifting its outstanding order book to RM6.8 billion.

The contract was awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary, Binastra Builders Sdn Bhd, by Exsim Sri Permai Sdn Bhd. It covers the design, construction and infrastructure works for the development, including the main building and related facilities.

Construction is scheduled to begin today and is expected to be completed within 18 months.

The latest award is Binastra’s seventh data centre project, bringing the cumulative value of its data centre contracts to about RM2.4 billion. It is also the second phase of the Cheras data centre project, following the first contract awarded in February, which is currently under construction.

Managing Director Datuk Jackson Tan Kak Seng said the latest contract highlights the group’s growing presence in the data centre construction segment as Malaysia continues to attract investments linked to artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

He said Binastra’s year-to-date contract wins for FY2027 have now reached RM1.3 billion and the group will continue pursuing high-value data centre and green-related projects through a selective growth strategy.
