Malaysia has pledged a total of US$1 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), reaffirming its continued support for the agency’s humanitarian work.
The pledge was announced at the UNRWA Pledging Conference in New York on 30 June 2026 and will be disbursed over five years, with US$200,000 allocated annually from 2026 to 2030.
Malaysia said the contribution reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting UNRWA in delivering essential services including humanitarian assistance, education, healthcare and protection for Palestinian refugees.
The Foreign Ministry said the funding underscores Malaysia’s long-term position in backing the agency’s mandate and operations.
“This effort is a manifestation of the values of Trust and Compassion of the Malaysia MADANI framework,” it said in a statement.
Malaysia added that it will continue to support UNRWA to ensure the agency is able to carry out its responsibilities to Palestinian refugees amid ongoing humanitarian needs.
