Tech Association Pays Tribute To Outgoing MDEC Executive Gopi Ganesalingam

PIKOM, the National Tech Association of Malaysia, has paid tribute to outgoing Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) executive Gopi Ganesalingam, describing him as a key driving force behind the growth and internationalisation of Malaysia’s technology industry.

In a statement, PIKOM chairman Alex Liew expressed the association’s appreciation for Gopi’s contributions throughout his tenure at MDEC, saying he had been a passionate advocate for Malaysian technology companies, entrepreneurs and innovators.

Liew said Gopi consistently worked to connect local technology firms with new business opportunities, helping them expand beyond Malaysia and strengthen their presence in regional and global markets.

He added that Gopi had also been a strong supporter of PIKOM, recognising the importance of close collaboration between the government and industry in developing the country’s digital economy.

The association said Gopi’s departure from MDEC further underscored the significance of that recognition, adding that Malaysia’s digital economy is built not only through policies and programmes but also through individuals committed to nurturing local technology champions.

On behalf of its members and the wider technology community, PIKOM thanked Gopi for his contributions and unwavering support for the association, while wishing him success in his future endeavours.

The association expressed confidence that although Gopi is leaving MDEC, he will continue to play an important role in advancing Malaysia’s technology ecosystem in the years ahead.
