Standard Chartered has expanded its wealth management offerings with the launch of the Signature Select APAC Allocation Plus fund, an Asia-focused multi-asset investment strategy developed under the bank’s Variable Capital Company (VCC) platform in partnership with global asset manager BlackRock.
The new sub-fund is designed as a one-stop investment solution for accredited and professional investors seeking diversified exposure across the Asia Pacific region. It invests in a mix of equities, fixed income and liquid alternative assets, with the objective of delivering long-term capital appreciation while generating income.
BlackRock will serve as the fund’s sub-manager, leveraging its Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions capabilities to dynamically allocate investments across asset classes based on market conditions. The strategy combines systematic equity insights with fundamental fixed income selection to generate diversified returns through different market cycles.
The fund will initially be offered to Standard Chartered’s Priority, Priority Private and Private Banking clients in Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Jersey, Malaysia, Kenya and Nigeria, with additional markets to be introduced later.
BlackRock Deputy Head of Asia-Pacific and Head of Asia Pacific Wealth Andrew Landman said the firm sees compelling opportunities for active investing in Asia, supported by the region’s favourable economic growth prospects and attractive asset valuations.
He said the collaboration aims to help investors access diversified sources of returns through disciplined portfolio construction and BlackRock’s multi-asset investment capabilities.
The launch marks the eighth sub-fund introduced under Standard Chartered’s VCC platform since its establishment in June 2024 and the third launched by the bank this year.
In Malaysia, Standard Chartered Malaysia and Indonesia Head of Wealth and Retail Banking Harmander Mahal said the new fund complements the bank’s strategy of helping clients meet their cross-border wealth management needs through specialised investment solutions and its international network.
He said the partnership with BlackRock provides Malaysian clients with additional opportunities to diversify their investment portfolios and capitalise on regional growth opportunities while preserving and growing their wealth.
