The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of Sarawak, with heavy rain and strong winds expected to persist until 12pm today.
The affected areas are Kuching, Serian and Samarahan.
MetMalaysia said the warning is issued when there are indications of thunderstorms capable of producing rainfall exceeding 20mm per hour that are occurring or are expected to last for more than an hour.
The warning is valid for a maximum of six hours from the time of issuance.
