‘Now You See Me 4’ Has One Magician Ready To Return

Jesse Eisenberg is ready for another round of illusions, heists and high-stakes tricks, with the actor revealing that he is eager to return for Now You See Me 4.

Speaking with TheWrap while receiving an honorary President’s Award at the 60th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Eisenberg said playing J. Daniel Atlas, the confident and arrogant magician at the centre of the franchise, remains one of his favourite roles.

“I’d love to do Now You See Me 4 more than anything else,” Eisenberg said, adding that the character offers a different experience from many of his previous dramatic roles. He noted that playing Atlas allows him to take on a more self-assured persona, describing the role as his “happiest place”.

Eisenberg first appeared as Atlas in 2013’s Now You See Me, alongside Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco and Isla Fisher as part of the illusionist group known as the Four Horsemen. The cast returned for Now You See Me 2 in 2016, before reuniting for 2025’s Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.

The latest instalment helped revive interest in the franchise, earning more than US$243 million worldwide and pushing the series’ combined box office total past US$932 million. The film brought back familiar faces while introducing a younger group of illusionists, including Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa and Ariana Greenblatt.

The fourth film is already in development, with Ruben Fleischer expected to return as director. The next instalment will continue the franchise’s focus on elaborate schemes, deception and the evolving dynamic between its ensemble of magicians.

Outside the franchise, Eisenberg continues to work across acting, writing and directing. His upcoming directorial project, The Debut, is set to make its festival run before a wider theatrical release in late 2026.
