Sony and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day is tracking for a major opening weekend, with early projections estimating a domestic debut of US$180 million to US$190 million.
According to data from Deadline, the film would become the biggest domestic opening of 2026 so far, surpassing Toy Story 5, which opened with US$159.6 million, if the forecast holds. It would also rank as the second-highest opening in the Spider-Man franchise, behind 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which debuted with US$260.1 million in North America.
The upcoming sequel is currently seeing strong advance interest, with early ticket sales tracking behind the film but ahead of several recent Marvel releases. Deadline reported that the film recorded the strongest first-day presales for a movie since No Way Home.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 31, 2026. The film will not have IMAX screenings due to existing bookings for another release. However, it will be available in other premium large-format formats.
Based on opening weekend estimates, current projections place the film ahead of several recent Marvel releases, including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
