EC Chief Inspects Johor 4 Polling Centres As Voting Gets Underway

Election Commission (EC) chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun inspected the voting process at four polling centres in Johor Bahru on Saturday to ensure the state election was conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner.

Ramlan began his inspection at Dewan Raya Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, the polling centre for the Skudai constituency, at about 8:50 am. The centre has seven polling streams.

He then visited the Raja Zarith Sofiah Library at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) for the Senai constituency, which has two polling streams, followed by Sekolah Agama Taman Bukit Mewah in Kempas with six streams.

His inspection tour concluded at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Uda Utama, the polling centre for the Perling constituency, which has nine polling streams.

During the visits, Ramlan received briefings from election officials on the voting arrangements and inspected facilities provided for voters and polling personnel.

He is scheduled to hold a press conference following the inspection tour.
