Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has opened applications for the Digital Content Grant (DCG) 2026, offering funding support to Malaysian animation and digital games studios.
In a post on X on Wednesday, MDEC said the programme includes a Mega Grant of up to RM2 million to support end-to-end intellectual property development and commercialisation for animation and digital games projects aimed at scaling globally competitive content.
The agency also announced a Marketing and Commercialisation Grant of up to RM300,000 to support promotional, marketing, distribution and commercialisation activities to help expand the market reach of Malaysian animation and digital games projects.
To assist prospective applicants, MDEC will hold three briefing sessions on July 22, Aug 5 and Aug 26 to provide further information on the application process.
Applications can be submitted through MDEC’s official grant portal, while registration for the briefing sessions is available online.
The DCG 2026 programme forms part of broader efforts to support Malaysia’s digital creative industry and strengthen the development and commercialisation of locally produced digital content.
