The government says it has returned RM238.64 million in savings to consumers through the Program Jualan Rahmah MADANI (PJRM) nationwide this year, benefiting Malaysians through subsidised essential goods.
Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Fuziah Salleh said the savings, as of July 13, were generated from more than 21 million transactions under the programme.
She said the ministry has appointed 2,665 strategic partners, including 606 retail outlets, to expand the reach of PJRM across the country.
“We have nearly tripled the number of retail stores participating as strategic partners compared with 212 last year, while also supporting local small businesses,” she told the Dewan Rakyat during Question Time.
Fuziah added that 35 cooperatives have also joined the programme as strategic partners.
The ministry is targeting 30,000 PJRM sales series this year, up from 25,708 organised in 2025.
“As of July 13, we have conducted 17,305 PJRM series, including 11,362 mobile Rahmah sales serving rural and remote communities,” she said.
Responding to a supplementary question on monitoring government subsidies, Fuziah said the ministry has strengthened oversight by appointing additional enforcement officers to monitor PJRM operations.
She added that all operators are now required to use a Point of Sale (POS) system to provide accurate stock and sales reports, ensuring transparency and integrity in subsidy claims
