Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are set to pursue memory chip supply partnerships worth a combined US$950 billion with major US technology companies, including Nvidia, according to South Korea’s presidential adviser Kim Yong-beom.
Kim said the proposed agreements comprise US$750 billion in long-term memory chip supplies from SK Hynix to US companies, alongside a US$200 billion chip supply deal between Samsung Electronics and Broadcom.
The partnerships underscore South Korea’s efforts to strengthen its position in the global artificial intelligence semiconductor supply chain by deepening ties with leading US technology firms.
The announcement was made during a briefing by Kim on Saturday. Reuters first reported the development.
