CIMB Appoints Former KWAP CEO Datuk Nik Amlizan To Board

CIMB Group Holdings Berhad has appointed former Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) chief executive officer Datuk Nik Amlizan Mohamed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director, effective Aug. 1, 2026.

The banking group said the appointment strengthens its board with an experienced investment and institutional fund management professional who has held senior leadership positions across Malaysia’s public pension and investment sectors.

Datuk Nik Amlizan, 58, served as CEO of KWAP from 2020 to 2026, where she led one of Malaysia’s largest public pension funds. Prior to that, she was CEO of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) between 2018 and 2020.

Her career spans more than three decades in investment management, including roles as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Equity at KWAP, General Manager at RHB Asset Management, and Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Investment Research at Maybank Investment Management.

She also previously sat on the boards of several organisations, including Affin Group Holdings Berhad, Boustead Berhad, KWEST Sdn. Bhd., Prima Ekuiti (UK) Ltd, Perbadanan Perwira Niaga Malaysia (Pernama), Perbadanan Hal Ehwal Bekas Angkatan Tentera (Perhebat) and Perbadanan Perwira Harta Malaysia (PPHM).

Datuk Nik Amlizan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Accounting from Claremont McKenna College in the United States. She has also completed the Oxford High Performance Leadership Programme at Oxford Saïd Business School and the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.
