The government will publish the full Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report into the management of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), including the names of individuals involved, without removing or withholding any sections, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
Anwar said the Cabinet had decided to release the report in full, covering all findings, recommendations and processes undertaken during the inquiry. He added that the scope of the review would extend beyond its original timeframe to examine developments after 2020.
“We will publish the whole thing. The report, recommendations and processes taken during the investigation. No aspect of the report will be cut out,” he said after Friday prayers at Masjid Qaryah Paroi Jaya. =
According to BuletinTV3, the Prime Minister said the RCI examined events dating back to 2014, when Bank Negara Malaysia issued its first warning, followed by another in 2017. He said the government had also directed that developments after that period be included in the review.
Anwar said the public, particularly Muslims, should have the opportunity to study the full report and draw lessons from its findings. He added that any individuals found responsible would be subject to investigation and possible prosecution in line with legal procedures.
He also expressed regret over allegations involving the management of TH, describing the institution as an important Islamic organisation that holds significance for the community.
The TH financial crisis was linked to asset-liability mismatch issues, which resulted in a major recovery plan before the RCI was established to investigate matters related to the institution’s management between 2014 and 2020.
