Bursa Malaysia opened lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) down 2.53 points or 0.15% to 1,723.20 as of 9.06am.
The index opened at 1,727.82 before slipping to its intraday low of 1,723.20, while the broader market remained mixed.
The FBM70 rose 17.84 points or 0.10% to 18,128.35, while the F4GBM fell 0.74 points or 0.07% to 1,033.60.
The FBMEMAS eased 9.13 points or 0.07% to 12,743.29, while the FBMSHA slipped 2.40 points or 0.02% to 12,554.96.
Among the most actively traded counters, NationGate Holdings Bhd rose 2 sen to RM1.25 with 41.22 million shares traded.
GIIB Holdings Bhd gained 1 sen to 45 sen on 38.69 million shares, while Kinergy Advancement Bhd was unchanged at 41.5 sen with 31.36 million shares traded.
Mag Holdings Bhd added 0.5 sen to 16.5 sen on 31.20 million shares, while NexG Bhd gained 0.5 sen to 28 sen with 23.31 million shares traded.
Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd was the top gainer, rising 60 sen to RM46.62, followed by ViTrox Corporation Bhd which gained 18 sen to RM8.88.
United Plantations Bhd was the biggest loser, falling RM1.16 to RM33.04, while QL Resources Bhd declined 9 sen to RM4.04.
Time dotCom Bhd eased 5 sen to RM5.95, Maxis Bhd fell 4 sen to RM3.62 and RHB Bank Bhd slipped 4 sen to RM8.62.
