Cypark Resources Bhd (Cypark) has secured a Feed-in Approval for 2026 under Malaysia’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) system, paving the way for the expansion of its waste-to-energy (WTE) facility in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
The company said its wholly owned subsidiary, Cypark Smart Technology Sdn Bhd, was listed by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA) as a successful applicant under the 2026 FiT system, based on results published by SEDA on 11 August 2026.
The approval covers an increase in capacity for Cypark’s Solid Waste Modular Advanced Recovery and Treatment Waste-to-Energy (SMART WTE) Plant at Ladang Tanah Merah, Port Dickson.
The successful application involves a total installed capacity of 44.73MW, with a net export capacity of 29.99MW, under the biomass category of the FiT system.
Cypark said the approval represents a key milestone towards the implementation of Phase 2 of its WTE plant, strengthening its renewable energy portfolio while supporting the conversion of solid waste into electricity.
The FiT mechanism provides a framework for eligible renewable energy projects to supply electricity to the national grid, with approved projects receiving tariffs under the applicable renewable energy programme.
The latest approval is expected to support Cypark’s efforts to expand its waste management and renewable energy operations, particularly in the WTE segment, where the company has been developing integrated solutions combining waste treatment with electricity generation.
The Phase 2 expansion will further build on the company’s existing SMART WTE facility at Ladang Tanah Merah, reinforcing its position in Malaysia’s waste-to-energy and renewable energy sector.
