Carlsberg Malaysia 1H26 Net Profit Edges Up 3.1% to RM181.9 Million

Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd posted a marginal 3.1% year-on-year increase in net profit to RM181.9 million for the first half ended June 30, 2026 (1H26), from RM176.5 million a year earlier, as revenue rose 5.9% to RM1.22 billion.

The brewer said the stronger first-half performance was supported by a longer selling period ahead of Chinese New Year and favourable pricing effects from adjustments made in its Malaysia operations last year. Singapore, however, recorded weaker revenue and operating profit amid lower export sales and the stronger ringgit against the Singapore dollar.

Malaysia revenue increased 9.2% to RM943.6 million, while profit from operations rose 6.7% to RM199.6 million. Singapore revenue fell 4% to RM277.2 million, with operating profit declining 21.6% to RM19.5 million.

For the second quarter (2Q26), group net profit edged up 1.2% to RM82.9 million as revenue grew 5% to RM514.9 million, driven by stronger sales and higher profit contribution from Malaysia.

Managing Director Stefano Clini said consumer sentiment and discretionary spending remained cautious, with the impact of the 10% excise duty increase imposed last November beginning to weigh on demand.

In line with the improved bottomline, Carlsberg Malaysia declared a second interim dividend of 21 sen per share for 2Q26, bringing its cumulative interim dividend for FY26 to 45 sen per share.
