Fashion Valet Received RM19.5 Million From Khazanah In March 2018, Court Told

Fashion Valet Sdn Bhd received two fund transfers totalling RM19.59 million from Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah) in March 2018, the Sessions Court was told today, according to Bernama.

CIMB Bank Berhad Menara KL Sentral Branch Manager Lee Hui Nee, 58, said a review of Khazanah’s CIMB account statements showed that RM7.848 million was transferred on 23 March 2018, followed by RM11.742 million on 26 March 2018.

She said both payments were made through interbank transfers from Khazanah’s CIMB account to Fashion Valet’s Public Bank account.

Lee, the fourth prosecution witness, said the transfers were carried out according to the bank’s standard operating procedures after receiving authorised instructions from Khazanah and verifying them by telephone.

She also confirmed that no other transfers were made from Khazanah’s account to Fashion Valet between 31 January 2017 and 31 December 2019.

Meanwhile, Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) Assistant Registrar R. Harshini, 36, told the court that there were no records of Vivy Sofinas Yusof or Fadzarudin Shah Anuar resigning or changing their status as directors of Fashion Valet between 2012 and 2024.

Vivy, 38, and Fadzarudin, 37, are jointly charged with criminal breach of trust involving RM8 million in investment funds from Khazanah and Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).

The couple allegedly transferred RM8 million from Fashion Valet’s bank account to 30 Maple Sdn Bhd without approval from Fashion Valet’s board on 21 August 2018.

They have pleaded not guilty to the charges, with the trial before Sessions Court Judge Rosli Ahmad set to resume on 16 October.
