Kumpulan Kitacon Bhd posted a marginal 8.7% increase in profit after tax (PAT) to RM28.7 million for the first half ended June 30, 2026 (1H26), from RM26.4 million a year earlier, supported by higher construction activity across ongoing projects.
Revenue for the six-month period also rose 9% to RM450.4 million from RM413.3 million previously, driven primarily by a higher level of construction activities.
For the second quarter, Kumpulan Kitacon’s PAT increased 11.8% to RM14.2 million from RM12.7 million in the corresponding quarter, while revenue climbed 13.4% to RM229.5 million from RM202.4 million.
The construction group said its earnings visibility remains supported by a RM1.24 billion outstanding order book.
Between Jan 1 and Aug 18, 2026, Kumpulan Kitacon secured RM190.2 million in new contracts involving residential landed and non-residential projects. The group continues to participate actively in tenders and expects contract awards to improve progressively through the year.
Looking ahead, Kumpulan Kitacon said it maintained a cautious outlook for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026, citing heightened geopolitical uncertainty, rising energy and commodity prices, supply-chain disruptions and increasing construction material, transportation and logistics costs.
Nevertheless, the group said it will continue to focus on disciplined cost management and operational resilience while monitoring market developments.
