Air pollution levels remained at unhealthy levels across several areas in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan as of the latest readings, with all nine monitoring stations recording API readings in the yellow category.
In Selangor, Johan Setia recorded the highest API reading at 168, followed by Shah Alam at 157, Kuala Selangor at 97, Klang at 140, Banting at 151 and Petaling Jaya at 100.
The readings show that air quality remained particularly poor in Johan Setia, where the API stayed above 160 throughout the latest 24-hour period.
In Negeri Sembilan, Nilai recorded an API reading of 159, while Seremban stood at 155.
Based on the latest readings, several areas remain within the unhealthy range, while some locations are at or around the threshold of 100.
The API is used to indicate air quality, with higher readings reflecting greater levels of air pollution and increased health risks, particularly for sensitive groups.
Residents, particularly those with respiratory conditions, children and the elderly, are advised to monitor air quality levels and limit prolonged outdoor exposure when pollution levels deteriorate.
