OMEGA is adding seven new references to its Speedmaster 38 mm collection, with the latest update bringing the smaller model closer to the design of the original Speedmaster.
The changes are most noticeable on the dial. The new watches use round subdials, giving them a layout more closely associated with the Moonwatch. The bracelet has also been redesigned and now includes a comfort adjustment system.
The new range covers several configurations. Three models are made entirely from stainless steel, while two combine steel with either Moonshine Gold or Sedna Gold. The remaining two feature diamond-set bezels with 52 diamonds.
Dial options vary across the collection. One stainless-steel model has a black dial and is the only new reference without a date display. Its design is the closest of the seven to the classic Moonwatch.
The two-tone models pair stainless steel with OMEGA’s Moonshine Gold or Sedna Gold. The diamond-set versions add rhodium-plated hands and baton indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova.
Powering the watches are OMEGA Co-Axial Calibre 3330 or 3332 movements. They feature a column-wheel chronograph, Co-Axial escapement and Si14 silicon balance spring. Each model also has a screw-in caseback with the Speedmaster’s Seahorse medallion.
With the new references, OMEGA has kept the 38 mm case size while changing the proportions, materials and dial designs.
