Four areas in Malaysia recorded unhealthy air quality readings as of 7.30am on Thursday, with three of them located in Sarawak and one in Kuala Lumpur.
Data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) showed Samarahan recorded the highest reading at 164, followed by the Serian District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 162 and Sri Aman at 155.
Cheras in Kuala Lumpur was the only affected area outside Sarawak, recording an IPU reading of 129.
The latest readings come as air quality concerns continue to build in several parts of the country, although no monitoring station recorded very unhealthy or hazardous levels.
Meanwhile, 61 monitoring stations nationwide recorded moderate readings while two stations reported good air quality.
Data for the monitoring station at Politeknik Kota Kinabalu in Sabah was unavailable as of the latest update.
The IPU readings are updated hourly based on data collected from 68 air quality monitoring stations across the country.
Residents in areas recording unhealthy readings are advised to limit prolonged outdoor activities, particularly those who may be more sensitive to poor air quality.
