The Selangor International Business Summit 2026 (SIBS 2026) is aiming to generate RM8 billion in potential transactions and facilitate at least 500 business-matching meetings as it marks its 10th edition this October.
Scheduled for Oct 14 to 17 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the summit will feature seven programmes covering investment, industrial development, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, digitalisation, the care economy and talent development.
Launched today, SIBS 2026 will serve as a platform for trade, investment and business cooperation across ASEAN, with its agenda aligned with the state’s five-year Rancangan Selangor Kedua (RS-2) economic blueprint.
Selangor Investment, Trade and Mobility executive councillor Ng Sze Han said the summit would support the state’s ambition to become an ASEAN model state for equitable growth and quality of life by 2030.
RS-2 targets average annual gross domestic product growth of 6.1%, cumulative investments of RM330 billion and an unemployment rate of 2.2% by 2030. Its priority sectors include electrical and electronics, aerospace, automotive, the digital economy and the creative economy.
Against this backdrop, Ng said SIBS would focus on attracting higher-quality investments and strengthening commercial links across the region.
The summit will comprise the Selangor ASEAN Business Conference, Selangor Investment Forum, Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo, Selangor AI and Semiconductor Summit, Selangor International Care Expo, Selangor Techsphere Summit and Selangor Career Outreach Talent Expo.
The programmes will cover areas including integrated circuit design, investment approvals, smart-city applications, industrial technology and workforce development. The investment forum will also feature prospective projects involving water management, energy and digital infrastructure.
“In the same way that ASEAN powers the global supply chain, Selangor powers Malaysia,” Ng said, adding that the state sought to demonstrate how regional integration, advanced manufacturing and equitable growth could develop in tandem.
Held in conjunction with SIBS, the third EU-Malaysia Business Day will take place at KLCC on Oct 13, focusing on advanced manufacturing, the green transition, digitalisation and logistics.
The event is expected to attract about 700 participants. More than 550 EU companies currently operate in Selangor, generating combined annual revenue exceeding RM51 billion.
