Varia Bhd capped FY26 on a high note, with profit after tax (PAT) surging more than 23-fold to RM46.44 million from RM2 million a year earlier, fuelled by accelerated revenue recognition from major flood mitigation projects and peak construction activity across its project portfolio.
The company’s full-year revenue also jumped 77% to RM968.25 million from RM546.77 million, with strong contributions from the Kota Tinggi Sungai Johor and Segamat Sungai Muar flood mitigation projects, alongside several other ongoing construction jobs.
The group also ended the year with a strong fourth quarter, recording PAT of RM6.45 million compared to a RM3.64 million loss a year earlier, while revenue climbed 62% to RM274.69 million.
Managing Director Datuk Benson Lau Beng Sin said the performance reflected the resilience of Varia’s diversified project portfolio and successful execution of its growth strategy. Its wholly owned subsidiary Pembinaan Teguh Maju also exceeded its three-year cumulative profit guarantee, delivering RM132.28 million in PAT against the guaranteed RM120 million.
As at June 30, Varia’s outstanding order book stood at approximately RM2.9 billion, supported by about RM450 million in new contracts secured during the first half of 2026, providing revenue visibility over the coming financial years.
The company is also pursuing new property development opportunities in Putrajaya and Johor Bahru as it seeks to broaden its portfolio and build sustainable recurring income streams.
