Bursa Malaysia ended lower on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) falling 7.03 points or 0.41% to 1,708.10.
The index opened at 1,713.74 and moved between an intraday high of 1,715.20 and a low of 1,704.86 before closing at 1,708.10.
The broader market was also mostly weaker, with the FBM70 declining 136.08 points or 0.76% to 17,769.20, while the FBMEMAS fell 57.89 points or 0.46% to 12,625.45.
The FBM100 also slipped 62.18 points or 0.50% to 12,429.26, while the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Small Cap Index bucked the broader weakness, rising 15.87 points or 0.10% to 16,088.71.
Among sectoral indices, the Energy Index fell 4.41 points or 0.54% to 805.62, while the Consumer Products & Services Index eased 2.03 points or 0.42% to 483.31. The Construction Index declined 0.98 points or 0.31% to 310.86.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia ACE Index was among the stronger performers, gaining 29.81 points or 0.57% to 5,217.47.
In active trading, Zetrix AI Bhd led with 1.38 billion shares changing hands, closing 1.5 sen higher at 25.5 sen. Cuscapi Bhd was next with 114.29 million shares traded, falling 0.5 sen to 4.5 sen.
Salutica Bhd gained four sen to 15.5 sen on 81.10 million shares, while Ingenieur Gudang Bhd was unchanged at 4.5 sen after 59.08 million shares changed hands. Notion Vtec Bhd rose 17 sen to 68.5 sen on 47.70 million shares.
