Allianz, Hong Leong Bank Lead Bursa Losers As Selling Pressure Dominates

Allianz Malaysia Bhd and Hong Leong Bank Bhd led Bursa Malaysia’s decliners at the close of trading session on Sept 11, as selling pressure remained broad with 809 losers outnumbering 427 gainers.

Allianz was the top loser, sliding 56 sen to RM21.12, followed by Hong Leong Bank, which fell 52 sen to RM23.08. Sunway Construction Group Bhd dropped 47 sen to RM7.44, while Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd lost 44 sen to RM23.56 and ViTrox Corp Bhd declined 32 sen to RM9.15.

The weaker breadth underscored cautious sentiment across the market, with 474 counters unchanged, 1,121 untraded and 32 suspended at 5pm.

On the upside, Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd topped the list, rising 27 sen to RM5.09. Eurospan Holdings Bhd advanced 18 sen to RM3.15, while Batu Kawan Bhd and Concrete Engineering Products Bhd each added 12 sen, closing at RM20.16 and RM4 respectively.

Mega Fortris Bhd rounded out the top five gainers, climbing nine sen to RM2.40.

Total market turnover stood at 3.57 billion units worth RM3.28 billion compared to 3.98 billion units valued at RM3.14 billion on Sept 10.
