Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd has announced the resignation of its non-independent non-executive chairman, Datuk Chong Loong Men, effective Sept 18, 2026, citing personal reasons and other commitments.
Chong, 47, was appointed to the company’s board as an executive director on June 11, 2025, before subsequently assuming the position of non-executive chairman.
Chong has a background in both law and construction-related disciplines.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London, a Certificate of Legal Practice and a Diploma in Quantity Surveying from Institut Teknologi Pertama.
Chong began his professional career at the Attorney General’s Chambers, where he served as a Deputy Public Prosecutor.
He subsequently moved into private legal practice and is currently practising as a lawyer.
Chong also holds a directorship in Erdasan Group Bhd and NexG.
