Serena Williams is taking her long-running relationship with Audemars Piguet into a new chapter with a limited-edition Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph.
The 38mm timepiece, created with Williams, features a white ceramic case and bracelet paired with a pink-tinted mother-of-pearl dial. The design combines the Royal Oak’s sporty chronograph format with softer details that Williams says reflect different sides of her personality.
“I’ve always believed that strength and feminine energy can exist side by side,” Williams said. “People often see strength, determination and competition, but there’s also creativity, intuition and joy.”
The watch introduces Audemars Piguet’s new Calibre 6401, an integrated self-winding chronograph movement developed in-house. It uses a redesigned vertical-clutch system and a revised dial-side layout, with the hour and minute counters at 3 and 9 o’clock and an instant-jump date between 4 and 5 o’clock.
The sapphire caseback reveals the movement and a 22-carat pink-gold oscillating weight. A titanium frame is engraved with “Limited Edition.”
The new model also builds on the Royal Oak Chronograph’s history. Audemars Piguet introduced the first chronograph in the collection in 1997, 25 years after the original Royal Oak.
Williams has worked with the Swiss watchmaker for more than a decade. The latest collaboration comes as her career continues beyond professional tennis, spanning entrepreneurship, production and advocacy.
The launch is accompanied by a campaign featuring Williams alongside Teyana Taylor and J Balvin. The three discuss the people and relationships that have influenced their respective careers.
