Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is returning to Kuala Lumpur, more than two decades after helping the club win the FA Premier League Asia Cup in the city.
The former Chelsea striker will headline The Famous CFC on Oct 30 and 31, an international fan event organised by Chelsea and The Ascott Limited at Ascott Kuala Lumpur and Ascott Star KLCC Kuala Lumpur.
Fans can look forward to meet-and-greet sessions with Hasselbaink and a watch party featuring Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Manchester United, screened live from Stamford Bridge.
Hasselbaink made 177 appearances for Chelsea and scored 87 goals, while winning the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2000-01 season after scoring 23 league goals.
“I really enjoyed visiting Kuala Lumpur previously, having been there when Chelsea visited for the FA Premier League Asia Cup just over two decades ago. Reliving those memories will be special, but what excites me most is meeting our fans in Kuala Lumpur, a city where the passion of the Blues always comes alive,” he said.
The event will be open through limited packages exclusively for Ascott Star Rewards members, combining hotel stays with access to the Chelsea fan experiences.
