HE Group Bhd has secured a subcontract worth approximately RM124 million for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of main electrical works at a data centre in Johor.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hexatech Engineering Sdn Bhd, received the subcontract late on Sept 23 from a Malaysia-incorporated, foreign-owned engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) company.
The EPCM company specialises in construction, civil engineering and the offshore oil and gas sectors. HE Group did not disclose the identity of the contracting party or the data centre developer.
The subcontract is valued at approximately RM124 million, subject to variations, additions or omissions permitted under its terms.
Work is scheduled to commence upon acceptance of the subcontract, with completion targeted for March 27, 2028.
The contract strengthens HE Group’s participation in Johor’s expanding data centre industry, particularly in the provision of electrical infrastructure required to support large-scale computing facilities.
HE Group said it does not foresee any significant risks beyond the normal operational risks associated with executing the subcontract.
