Five areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 4 pm today, while Kuala Lumpur remained at a moderate level, according to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS).
Four of the affected areas were in Johor — Pasir Gudang (161), Kota Tinggi (159), Pengerang (158) and Larkin (152) — while Serian in Sarawak recorded an API reading of 141.
Meanwhile, 51 areas, including Kuala Lumpur, recorded moderate API readings, while 12 areas recorded good readings.
Under the API classification, readings of 0 to 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy, and 301 and above as hazardous.
