Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd led Bursa Malaysia’s decliners at the close on Sept 30, tumbling 78 sen to RM3.56 as losers outnumbered gainers by a wide margin.
At the closing bell, some 703 counters closed lower against 413 gainers, while 572 counters were unchanged, 1,167 untraded and 95 suspended.
Other counters that closed lower were Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd with a 40 sen drop to RM40.40, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd, which slipped 30 sen to RM22.20, Genting Plantations Bhd, which declined 24 sen to RM5.53, while Eurospan Holdings lost 23 sen to RM3.01.
On the gainers’ list, Nestle (M) Bhd rose RM1 to RM90, Allianz Malaysia Bhd gained 76 sen to RM21.62 and UWC Bhd added 27 sen to RM7.07.
Tenaga Nasional Bhd and United Plantations Bhd both advanced 24 sen, closing at RM12.96 and RM31.56 respectively.
Total turnover improved to 3.63 billion units worth RM3.62 billion from 3.31 billion units valued at RM2.95 billion on Sept 29.
