Air Quality In Selangor Improves With All Six Areas Record Below 100

Air quality in six monitoring areas in Selangor remained at moderate levels as of 9am on Thursday, while Seri Manjung in Perak was the only area nationwide to record unhealthy air quality.

According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Shah Alam recorded the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in Selangor at 92.

The other five areas were Klang at 87, Johan Setia at 85, Petaling Jaya at 83, Kuala Selangor at 74 and Banting at 70.

Meanwhile, Seri Manjung recorded an API reading of 108, placing it in the unhealthy category.

Overall, 62 areas nationwide, including the six locations in Selangor, recorded moderate air quality, while five areas registered good air quality.

Under the API classification, readings of 0 to 50 are considered good, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and above 300 hazardous.
