Meta has appointed Dhruv Vohra as Managing Director of its Global Business Group for Southeast Asia, putting the seven-year company veteran in charge of commercial strategy across six key regional markets.
Vohra will oversee Meta’s business across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, reporting to Benjamin Joe, Vice President for Asia Pacific.
The appointment comes as Meta looks to capture further growth in Southeast Asia, where businesses are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence (AI), business messaging, live shopping and social commerce.
Vohra joined Meta in 2019 as Director for e-commerce and digital natives before leading small and medium business growth in Southeast Asia. His remit was subsequently expanded across Asia Pacific.
“Southeast Asia is one of Meta’s fastest-growing business regions, and the work ahead is helping businesses leverage AI and messaging at the pace their customers already expect,” Joe said.
He added that Vohra had spent seven years working closely with businesses in the region and building teams supporting millions of companies.
Vohra said Southeast Asia remained one of the world’s most dynamic digital markets, with trends including business messaging and live shopping finding early adopters in the region.
“No two markets here behave the same way, and the businesses growing fastest here have outgrown the borders they started in. AI has opened up even more possibilities,” he said.
Vohra has also contributed to Meta’s research on Southeast Asia’s digital consumer and e-commerce landscape, including its SYNC Southeast Asia thought leadership series.
