Country Heights Holdings Bhd (CHHB) said its major subsidiary, Golden Horse Palace Bhd (GHPB), has been served with a winding-up petition involving a claim of RM312,652.99.
CHHB said the petition was presented at the Shah Alam High Court on Sept 22 and served on GHPB on Oct 1.
The company stressed that no winding-up order has been made against GHPB, with the petition still subject to determination by the High Court.
The claim arises from two Industrial Court awards obtained by petitioner Josita Ket Kang En @ Karlen against GHPB, which were subsequently registered as an order of the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.
The amount claimed comprises a RM279,510 judgment sum and RM33,142.99 in interest calculated up to Sept 22, 2026. Interest continues to accrue at RM62.26 per day thereafter.
According to the petition, a statutory demand was served on GHPB on July 21 requiring the amount to be settled, secured or compounded within 21 days. The petitioner alleged that GHPB failed to do so within the prescribed period.
The case is scheduled for case management on Oct 21, while the winding-up petition is fixed for hearing on Dec 8, 2026.
GHPB is an approximately 80.9%-owned subsidiary of Country Heights, with CHHB’s total cost of investment in the company estimated at RM219 million.
CHHB said the petition is not expected to have any immediate material operational impact on the group at this stage, while any eventual financial impact will depend on the outcome of the proceedings.
GHPB is seeking legal advice and considering the appropriate steps to protect its interests.
