FAM said the match initially displayed two minutes of added time before the figure was changed to seven minutes.

The association said it wanted FIFA to explain the basis, procedures and circumstances that led to the adjustment, particularly as the match had implications for the final Group A standings and qualification for the final.

“FAM considers the accurate and consistent management of match time to be an important element of match officiating and the overall integrity of competition, particularly in ensuring that matches are conducted fairly, transparently and in accordance with the applicable Laws of the Game and competition regulations,” it said in a statement.

FAM has called on FIFA to review the incident and clarify the procedures followed by the match officials, including the basis for changing the amount of added time.

The association stressed that its request was not intended to challenge the result or question the performance or achievement of any team.

“Rather, it is intended to seek official clarification on the match-officiating process and procedures, with a view to ensuring transparency, consistency and clarity in the application of the relevant regulations,” FAM said.

Indonesia beat Bangladesh 9-2 in the match, leaving Indonesia and Malaysia level on points in Group A, with Indonesia advancing to the final against Thailand on goal difference.
