Chaumet is turning botanical forms and familiar scents into high jewellery with its new A Journey Through Nature 2026 collection.
The collection is the second chapter in the maison’s trilogy dedicated to nature. It explores plants through their shapes, colours and fragrances, translating those details into sculptural jewellery rather than simply recreating them.
Three themes anchor the collection: Vanilla Flower, Coffee Aroma and Peppercorns.
The Vanilla Flower pieces draw from the blossoms and pods of the vanilla plant. One of the key designs is an asymmetrical necklace centred on a 10.71-carat D-colour, flawless, Type IIa cushion-cut diamond. Its rounded forms are intended to capture the warmth associated with vanilla.
Coffee Aroma takes its cue from the shape and depth of a coffee bean. Its central necklace features a 12.09-carat oval-cut sapphire, surrounded by white-gold pavé that traces the movement of rising coffee aroma. Tassel details add movement to the design. The piece required more than 1,200 hours of craftsmanship.
The Peppercorns designs take a different approach, using white gold and diamonds in a monochrome palette. The necklace references the V-shaped lines of Chaumet’s Joséphine collection, while the maison’s Fil-couteau technique creates a light, floating effect along the edges.
The collection was first unveiled at the Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay near Paris in April. It was later presented in Beijing in September, where the jewellery was shown alongside botanical scents inspired by the collection.
The presentation also placed the new pieces alongside Chaumet’s historic jewellery. Among the archival works was a foliate-scroll tiara created in 1908 for the Marquis de Talhouët. Made with gold, silver and diamonds, the tiara reflects the maison’s longstanding interest in botanical forms.
Nature has been a recurring theme in Chaumet’s jewellery for centuries, with Empress Joséphine’s interest in botany among the historical influences behind the maison’s designs. A Journey Through Nature continues that focus through more abstract interpretations of plants and their scents.
The collection was also worn during the Beijing presentation by Chaumet ambassador Yosh Yu, who appeared in pieces including the Star Anise brooch. Li Bingbing wore the Coffee Aroma necklace, while Athena Chu appeared in the Joséphine Amour d’Aigrette ensemble.
With A Journey Through Nature, Chaumet moves from simply depicting flowers and plants to exploring the sensory associations attached to them. Fragrance becomes part of the design story, while gemstones, metalwork and setting techniques give those fleeting impressions a lasting form.
