Nearly RM1 Million In Zakat Channelled To Asnaf Communities

Nearly RM1 million in business zakat has been channelled to zakat institutions across six states and the Federal Territories to support asnaf communities and socioeconomic development.

Takaful Ikhlas Family Bhd and Takaful Ikhlas General Bhd distributed a combined RM956,200 in zakat for the financial year ended March 31, 2025.

The Pusat Pungutan Zakat Wilayah Persekutuan received the largest allocation, with Takaful Ikhlas General contributing RM313,649.60 and Takaful Ikhlas Family RM68,830.40.

The Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah, Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Kelantan and Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah Darul Aman each received RM156,842.80 from Takaful Ikhlas General.

Meanwhile, Zakat Melaka and Zakat Perak Al-Ridzuan each received RM51,622.80 from Takaful Ikhlas Family.

Takaful Ikhlas General president and chief executive officer Dato’ Rudy Rodzila Che Lamin said the contributions were channelled through zakat institutions in Sabah, Kelantan, Kedah, Perak, Melaka and the Federal Territories.

“Through close collaboration with zakat institutions across these states, we are able to ensure that the assistance provided reaches those who genuinely need it and delivers a more sustainable impact on their lives,” he said.

The distribution was coordinated through IKHLAS Barakah House, a Shariah-compliant fund collection and distribution platform covering economic development, health and well-being, community empowerment, educational advancement and environmental sustainability.
