Singapore Shares Open Higher, STI Up 0.52%

Singapore shares opened higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 29.42 points, or 0.52 per cent, to 5,664.24 as of 9:22 am.

Market breadth was positive, with 154 gainers against 92 decliners. About 145.44 million shares worth S$248.90 million changed hands.

Among the index counters, DBS rose 71 cents, or 0.92 per cent, to S$77.92, while OCBC Bank gained to S$31.84. UOB advanced to S$43.09.

Keppel was at S$11.14, SGX rose to S$20.60 and Singtel increased to S$4.27.

In the real estate investment trust (REIT) segment, CapLand Ascendas REIT gained one cent, or 0.45 per cent, to S$2.23. CapLand Integrated Commercial Trust rose to S$2.27, while Mapletree Industrial Trust gained to S$1.85.

Meanwhile, the FTSE China A50 Index Futures for October 2026 stood at 13,843 points as of 9:09 am, with 2,114 contracts traded.
