Gambit Group CEO Datuk Clifford Hii Toh Leong has been appointed Executive Deputy Chairman of Asteel Group Bhd.
The appointment follows the completion of the unconditional mandatory takeover offer on Oct 5 and will see Hii take on a more active executive role at the Bursa Malaysia-listed company.
Hii, whose background spans private wealth, financial services, fintech and digital assets, is expected to work with Asteel’s existing management and board as the group reviews opportunities to strengthen its operations and competitiveness.
He said the focus will be on building on Asteel’s existing industrial base while exploring the use of digitalisation, technology and more efficient business processes.
