Northern Solar Wins RM34 Million EPCC Contract For 9.5MW Solar Plant

Northern Solar Holdings Bhd has secured a RM34 million engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract for a 9.5MW solar photovoltaic plant, lifting the value of its recent large-scale solar awards to about RM153.4 million.

The letter of award was accepted by its wholly owned subsidiary Northern Solar Sdn Bhd, with commercial operations targeted no later than May 1, 2027.

The project is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets per share from the financial year ending March 31, 2027 onwards. The identity of the awarding party was not disclosed due to a confidentiality clause.

The latest contract follows RM119.4 million worth of LSS5-related awards secured in March 2026, which are currently being delivered.

As at June 30, 2026, Northern Solar’s unbilled order book stood at RM189.3 million, providing further revenue visibility.

Managing Director Lew Shoong Kai said the group will focus on delivering the project within specifications and schedule while maintaining discipline over costs, working capital and execution risks.

Northern Solar is also eyeing opportunities arising from the expansion of Malaysia’s renewable energy market, including larger-scale projects and solar-plus-storage systems, while continuing to build capabilities in energy storage and renewable energy asset ownership.
