Midtown Group Bhd will be reclassified under Bursa Malaysia’s Construction sector and sub-sector from Oct 12, reflecting changes in the company’s business activities and the contribution of its core operations to financial results.
Bursa Malaysia Securities said the reclassification will take effect at 9am on Oct 12, moving Midtown from the Industrial Products & Services sector and Industrial Engineering sub-sector into Construction.
The update was made at the company’s request, with Bursa taking into account changes in Midtown’s business activities and the contribution of its core business to its financial performance.
Midtown’s stock short name “MIDTOWN” and stock code “0177” will remain unchanged following the reclassification.
Bursa said sector and sub-sector classifications are updated to ensure investors and industry participants are kept informed of developments involving listed companies across the Main, ACE and LEAP markets.
